Watching Severance with my family is saving my life. My teenage boys are at the age now where they don't watch as many movies with my husband and I, but we are all obsessed with this show, which is so fun. We watch it together every Friday and then talk about it through the week, sharing theories and wondering what will happen next. It's a guaranteed point of connection between all four of us right now, and I will take it!
Things saving my life right now: Time for reflection, your content, images and humor (be a grown-up and do your homework please and thank you and your hair looks so pretty 👏 genius), your QOTD, music, the humor of John Crist and Nate Bargatze, Father Brown TV and the hope that winter will end before it ends me.
Saving my winter life: I asked for an Emily Lex’s watercolor workbook for Christmas and I loved it so much, I just bought two more! It’s a calming exercise that helps me slow down and be mindful especially on cold winter days. Bonus that my kids can be painting in their coloring books right next to me!
What’s saving my life right now is workout classes at the Y. I’ve never loved moving my body, but I’m finding so much fun, joy, focus, and energy when I’m getting healthy movement into my days!
Coffee continues to safe my life right now! LOL Coffee, good hearty soups, and the John O'Donohue book, To Bless The Space Between Us. It's so beautifully written! Also...Survivor is still my favorite too! Let's goooo!
Coffee (my favourite experience of embodiment); my new all-natural cleaning products that smell like mint and make me actually want to clean a little more often (a clean house makes me feel so much better in my soul); no news before breakfast and after dinner (even though I'm in Canada - it's still intense when our neighbours have a lot going on!); watching "Colin from Accounts" with my daughter (content warnings apply, and also you guys, it is SO FUNNY AND HEARTFELT).
Things saving my winter life: practicing the violin and giving myself permission to enjoy being a beginner, drinking my morning coffee piled under blankets on the screened-in porch when the snow is falling, crocheting baby blankets, gathering around tables or kitchen islands with friends to share good food and lots of laughter, and an uncommon amount of sunshine for a Maine winter.
TOTALLY agree with your about David and Alexis!!! That whole family is just the best. In my top five series of all time! Have probably watched the whole series three times.
Often rewatching or relistening to my favorite mindless/escape shows, movies, books...is life saving and nurturing for my soul.
What’s saving my life; trying and mostly succeeding at getting a routine wake and bedtime. And knitting for charity out of remnants of my favorite yarn. It’s a fun and sort of silly creative activity that is also functional. I knit various sizes of hats and mittens. I am a yarn snob and believe those who find themselves in need deserve items that are warm and feel good on your skin. So I only knit with at least mid grade yarns, I hate cheap yarns. It feels scratchy on the skin .
It's frigid cold here on Cape Cod. But there's more than enough going on inside to keep me cozy and content ... and so I'm happily sharing these 6 little sparks of joy -

Things saving my life this winter:
Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea
Coco Peru shopping videos on YouTube (who also drinks Tension Tamer tea and has a video about it)
Running, even in the cold
“Cozy mystery” novels by Ellery Adams
One Line A Day journaling (anything more is too overwhelming right now)
The women in my dog’s agility class
I'm a big tea drinker and I'll be looking for this one!
The Bookmark Prayer by Simon de Voil is a beautiful song of the prayer from Teresa of Avila.

What is saving my life:
The Quiet Collection
My Jesus Calling daily little calendar
Holding my warm coffee in the morning with my eyes closed for a minute
Thinking about and actually writing words
Love is Blind 😂
Love the eye closing idea. And I second the Quiet Collection!
Don’t think for a second I haven’t googled when the season premier of Survivor is 70 thousand times this winter. Solidarity.
